A Japanese restaurant where the art of tea and fine cuisine come together, operated by Sozen Suzuoki, a master of the Enshu School of Tea Ceremony. Set in a beautifully restored 120-year-old traditional teahouse, guests can enjoy an authentic chakaiseki experience featuring carefully selected seasonal ingredients from Kaga. Through the refined techniques of the chef and the host’s explanations of the tea ceremony, discover the unique culinary culture of Kanazawa and the spirit of chanoyu (the Japanese tea ceremony).

A Chakaiseki-Inspired Lunch Experience Featuring the Finest Local Ingredients
Enjoy a seasonal lunch inspired by the spirit of chakaiseki, featuring dishes such as mukozuke (sashimi), grilled dishes, and hassun (seasonal delicacies). Each dish is carefully prepared by a skilled Japanese chef, showcasing the seasonal flavors of Kaga. Accompanied by the host’s explanations of tea ceremony etiquette and the dishes, this experience allows you to discover the beauty of chanoyu (the Japanese tea ceremony) through all five senses.

茶事は本来、掛け軸や花を鑑賞する時間も含め約4時間を要するものですが、
鈴おきではより気軽に体験していただけるよう、
茶懐石と茶道の間に余白のひとときを設けつつ、約1.5時間でお愉しみになれる工夫をしております。
銅鑼の音を合図に茶道の体験へとお進みください。

A traditional Japanese chaji (full tea gathering) typically lasts around four hours, including time to appreciate the hanging scroll, seasonal flowers, and the tearoom setting. At Suzuoki, however, the experience has been thoughtfully adapted into an approximately 90-minute program, making it more accessible while preserving the essence of the tea ceremony. A moment of quiet reflection is provided between the chakaiseki meal and the tea ceremony. When you hear the sound of the dora (traditional gong), you will be invited to proceed to the tea ceremony experience.

丁寧にお点てした薄茶を菓子と共にお召し上がりください。
茶道の精神性に感銘を受けた店主の心も感じ取ってくださいますと幸いです。
お茶碗を選んだりご自身でお茶を点てたりもしていただけますので、

After the meal, you will be invited to a private room to enjoy a carefully prepared bowl of matcha accompanied by a traditional Japanese sweet. We hope you will also experience the host’s deep appreciation for the spirit and philosophy of tea ceremony.

Guests may also have the opportunity to select their own tea bowl and prepare their own matcha. If you would like to participate, please let us know in advance.
